At the End of Disagreement Btw Wike/Fubara,Fubara Had To Join APC,That Shows Wikes Influence–Abbah
Political analyst Dr. Theophilus Abbah has described the political developments involving Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike and Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara as an indication of Wike’s considerable influence over the state’s political landscape.
Abbah made the observation during an interview on Trust TV’s Daybreak programme, where he discussed Wike’s involvement in President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign and the possible implications for political stability in Rivers State.
During the discussion, the interviewer sought his opinion on whether Wike’s participation in the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign structure could affect political relationships and governance in Rivers State, particularly given the prolonged disagreement between the minister and Governor Fubara.
In his response, Abbah noted that Wike had repeatedly demonstrated his commitment to supporting Tinubu’s continued presidency. He also drew attention to the political conflict between Wike and Fubara, which had generated tensions and influenced political activities in the state.
According to the analyst, the developments surrounding the disagreement highlighted the extent of Wike’s political leverage and his ability to shape events within Rivers State.
Abbah specifically pointed to Fubara’s decision to join the APC following the political crisis, interpreting the move as an indication of the pressure that competing political interests can exert on political leaders.
He argued that the situation raised questions about the balance of power among political actors and the ability of politicians to make independent decisions amid intense political rivalries.
Abbah said: “Look at what happened between Wike and Fubara; at the end of their political disagreement, Fubara had to join APC, and that shows Wike’s overbearing influence in Rivers State.”
