“What Surprises Me Most Is Seeing Gov Soludo Of APGA Becoming A Member Of Another Party’s PCC– Abbah

During an interview on Trust TV’s Daybreak programme, political analyst Dr. Theophilus Abbah expressed surprise over the inclusion of Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo in the APC’s presidential campaign council.

Abbah made the remarks while discussing the ruling party’s Rainbow Coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to him, the arrangement involving politicians from different political parties was unusual in Nigeria’s electoral history.

He explained that although politicians had previously accepted appointments in governments controlled by other parties, participating in their campaign councils was different.

The political analyst specifically mentioned Governor Soludo, who belongs to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

He recalled that APGA had previously presented presidential candidates during Nigerian elections.

Abbah questioned the implications of a prominent figure from the party participating in the presidential campaign structure of the APC.

He explained that political parties were expected to maintain distinct identities and principles when competing for political power.

Abbah maintained that the arrangement raised questions about the differences between Nigeria’s political parties.

Reacting to the development, Abbah said: “What Surprises Me Most Is Seeing Governor Soludo Of APGA Becoming A Member Of Another Party’s Presidential Campaign Council, Even Though APGA Has Its Own Political Identity.”
