UEFA Champions League Table After Real Madrid Won 4-3

According to a report by BBC Sport on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, Real Madrid produced a stunning comeback to secure a hard-fought 4-3 victory over AS Roma in their UEFA Champions League match at the Stadio Olimpico.

Roma started the game with confidence and took the lead in the 20th minute when Marten de Roon found the back of the net with a fine effort from outside the box, leaving Real Madrid with work to do as the home supporters celebrated the opening goal.

Real Madrid responded in the 25th minute through Kylian Mbappe, who fired home from outside the box after receiving an assist from Yan Diomande. However, Roma continued to cause problems for the visitors and restored their advantage through Donyell Malen in the 51st minute before the forward completed another important finish in the 57th minute to make it 3-1.

With Roma looking set to claim an important victory, Real Madrid refused to give up and increased the pressure in the closing stages. The visitors found a way back into the contest when Carlos Espi scored in the 83rd minute, with VAR confirming the goal after an initial offside decision.

Endrick then brought Real Madrid level in the 85th minute, heading home from an Arda Guler corner as the Spanish giants suddenly found themselves back in the game after trailing by two goals.

The comeback was completed in dramatic fashion in the 90th minute when Antonio Rudiger reacted quickly to a loose ball and fired home from close range following another corner delivered by Guler, silencing the home crowd and handing Real Madrid a remarkable late lead.

Roma pushed forward in the closing minutes in search of an equaliser, but Real Madrid held on until the final whistle to take all three points.

The victory sees Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid climb to eighth position on the UEFA Champions League table, while AS Roma suffer a painful defeat that leaves them in 25th place after throwing away a valuable two-goal advantage.
