Rev. Dr Wengnam Reveals What Assemblies of God Will Do With Its Newly Arrived 10,000-Seater Dome

The Assemblies of God, Ghana, has announced plans to lend its newly arrived 10,000-seater dome to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for activities marking Ghana’s 70th anniversary celebrations.

The church’s General Superintendent, Rev. Dr Stephen Yenusom Wengnam, disclosed this on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, during the opening of the 10th World Assemblies of God Congress at the Accra International Conference Centre Dome.

He explained that technical challenges had delayed the arrival of the structure from Dubai, preventing the church from using it for the congress as originally planned.

According to Rev. Dr Wengnam, although the dome has arrived at the port, assembling it would take approximately 10 days, making it impossible to prepare the facility in time for the ongoing religious gathering.

The church had initially planned to hold the congress at Independence Square, but the delay forced it to proceed with alternative arrangements.

Despite the setback, Rev. Dr Wengnam said the church had identified another use for the structure.

It intends to move the dome to the Assemblies of God Centenary City land before making it available to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for events associated with Ghana’s 70th anniversary celebrations.

The arrangement is expected to provide additional accommodation for activities planned as part of the national milestone while allowing the church to put the newly acquired facility to use despite its late arrival.

Meanwhile, the 10th World Assemblies of God Congress will continue with evening revival rallies at the Accra Sports Stadium from 5 p.m. daily, beginning Wednesday, October 14, and ending Friday, October 16, 2026.
