Portable asks Tinubu, Seyi to pay him more money for APC rally ‘stress’
According to a report by The Cable on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, the controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, better known by his stage name Portable, has demanded more compensation from President Bola Tinubu and his son Seyi Tinubu for the physical strain he allegedly suffered while performing at an APC rally.
While attending the Tinubu/Shettima campaign rally at Onikan Stadium, the singer made the demand on behalf of the candidates. The event drew numerous politicians, entertainers, and supporters.
Social media videos surfaced showing Portable mingling with supporters and campaigning for the ruling party as he made his way around the venue.
On the other hand, a video that went viral showed the singer, who looked exhausted, laying on the ground while he insisted on seeing the president and his son multiple times.
Portable asserted his right to extra compensation, stating that the experience had been physically taxing and that he had fainted amidst the chaos at the venue.
The video showed the singer pleading with Tinubu and Seyi to help him as his manager, Babylov, tried to encourage him to stand up and get out of the stadium.
They have nearly strangled me, so I want to see Tinubu and Seyi Tinubu. “Tinubu is winning; I have fainted,” Portable declared.
He later admitted that he had been paid to attend the event, but he insisted that the amount was inadequate for the amount of stress he said he had endured.
Were we not able to amass funds? “Please, Tinubu, give me more money; I’m really hot,” the singer continued.
Many people have taken notice of the video and are talking about Portable’s intense response to the rally on social media.
There was no independent confirmation of the details surrounding the reported incident, although reports indicated that the singer fainted due to overcrowding at the venue.
The controversial public statements, outspoken personality, and frequent participation in online debates that Portable is famous for have made him famous. In the past, the singer has also said that he is prepared to financially back politicians.
Portable made it public in September 2025 that he would back the presidential candidate whose campaign he was paid to back the most in the run-up to the 2027 election.
In Nigerian politics, the singer’s previous stance brought attention to the use of celebrity endorsements. Entertainers are occasionally recruited to energize campaign crowds, appeal to younger voters, and promote candidates through their public platforms.
