Harris to hit campaign trail for Democrats in Mississippi, New Hampshire, more
Former Vice President Kamala Harris is set to hit the campaign trail for the last few weeks of the midterms, her office announced Wednesday.
Harris is set to make stops in Georgia, Mississippi, Nevada, New Hampshire and Wisconsin in support of Democrats “up and down the ballot,” her office said.
The announcement comes shortly after former President Obama made several endorsements ahead of Election Day and as President Trump embarks on his own red state campaign blitz.
Harris is set to begin her campaigning stretch in Nevada, planning to appear alongside Democratic gubernatorial candidate Aaron Ford on Oct. 21 before traveling to Mississippi the next day for an event with Senate candidate Scott Colom (D). Later in October, she will visit New Hampshire and Wisconsin to campaign with Democratic Senate candidate Chris Pappas and gubernatorial candidate David Crowley (D), respectively
The former vice president will cap the tour “with a series of campaign and voter protection events across the state of Georgia” between Oct. 28-30 alongside Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.), who’s seeking reelection this November.
Harris’s campaign blitz comes around two years after she lost the presidential race, an election cycle that left Democrats questioning their future in its wake. However, the party appears to be in a much better position than they were during the 2024 elections.
According to nonpartisan election forecaster Decision Desk HQ, Democrats are poised to retake both the House and Senate this November. Meanwhile, Republicans are facing political headwinds, including the Trump administration’s unpopular war in Iran and concerns surrounding rising living costs.
The former vice president is also considered one of the top contenders for the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination, alongside other prominent Democrats, including California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker and Ossoff himself, who recently denied such speculation.
