All Eyes on Ruto’s Next Move as He Is Dared to Do This If He Is Truly an Enemy of Uhuru
Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has challenged President William Ruto to prove that his political differences with retired President Uhuru Kenyatta are genuine by removing Cabinet officials he associates with the former Head of State.
Amisi made the remarks amid growing exchanges between Ruto and Uhuru as political leaders position themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The lawmaker accused the two leaders of repeating what he described as political tricks used during the 2022 election period. He claimed their current public confrontation could mislead young Kenyans supporting the Wantam movement, which is pushing for political change.
“In 2022, the two of you played Baba together by false pretense, you are now playing the same trick on Wantam brigade and the youth of this country seeking genuine change,” Amisi stated.
The MP further challenged Ruto to dismiss Cabinet Secretaries William Kabogo, Lee Kinyanjui and Mutahi Kagwe, whom he linked to Uhuru’s previous administration.
According to Amisi, their continued presence in the Cabinet raises questions about the nature of the disagreement between the President and his predecessor.
His comments come after Ruto intensified his criticism of Uhuru during political rallies in the North Rift. The President accused the former Head of State of betrayal and questioned his involvement in efforts to mobilise opposition leaders against the government.
Uhuru, who supported Raila Odinga in the 2022 presidential election, has recently made remarks critical of Ruto’s leadership, adding to the political tension between the two former allies.
The renewed confrontation has also attracted reactions from opposition figures, some of whom have questioned whether the dispute could affect efforts to unite leaders ahead of the next election.
Amisi’s challenge now places the spotlight on the President’s Cabinet and the political relationships within his broad-based government. However, the MP’s allegations do not establish that Ruto and Uhuru are secretly working together.
With the 2027 election approaching, the exchange highlights the growing debate over political alliances, public trust and the role of young voters in shaping Kenya’s future.
Kenyans will be watching how the leaders respond as the political contest continues.
