All Eyes on EPRA as It’s Set to Make a Major Fuel Price Update – Details

Kenyans are waiting for a fresh announcement from the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA), which is expected to reveal the next fuel prices for the October-November period.

The regulator is expected to address the media at 4pm on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, to announce the new maximum retail prices for petrol, diesel and kerosene, according to the information provided.

The announcement is important to motorists, public transport operators, business owners and households that depend on fuel for their daily activities.

In its previous review released on September 14, EPRA maintained fuel prices for the period running from September 15 to October 14, 2026.

In Nairobi, a litre of Super Petrol retailed at KSh214.03, while diesel sold at KSh217.86 and kerosene at KSh191.38. The prices were scheduled to remain in force until October 14. <Cite refs={[“turn389892search0″,”turn389892search7”]}/>

The latest review is therefore expected to provide fresh guidance on how much consumers will pay at petrol stations from October 15.

Fuel prices remain a major concern for many Kenyans because changes can affect transport fares and the cost of moving goods from one location to another. Businesses that rely on vehicles may also adjust their operating costs depending on the new rates.

EPRA considers several factors when calculating local fuel prices, including the cost of imported petroleum products, international oil market movements and the exchange rate between the Kenyan shilling and the US dollar. <Cite refs={[“turn389892search3″,”turn389892search7”]}/>

However, it remains unclear whether the upcoming review will bring an increase, a reduction or no change in pump prices.

Kenyans will be looking out for the official announcement to establish whether their monthly fuel expenses are likely to change.

The regulator’s final figures will determine the maximum retail prices applicable during the new pricing period.

Will EPRA reduce fuel prices, increase them or maintain the current rates? Kenyans will have to wait for the official announcement for confirmation.
