Van Vicker Has Sued Lil Win For Defamation

According to a report by The BBC Ghana today being Tuesday, October 13, 2026, Ghanaian actor Van Vicker has reportedly filed a defamation lawsuit against fellow actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lilwin, demanding GH¢10 million in damages over comments allegedly made about him.

The legal action follows remarks Lilwin reportedly made ahead of the filming of A Journey to Africa at Nzulezu in the Western Region of Ghana.

According to the claims outlined in the lawsuit, Lilwin allegedly accused Van Vicker of failing to participate in the movie and threatened to prevent him from appearing in any Kumawood production.

Van Vicker is challenging the alleged statements, arguing that they have negatively affected him and caused him considerable emotional distress.

A court document dated October 10, 2026, indicates that the actor claims the comments have subjected him to fear and anxiety. He further alleges that concerns about his personal safety have forced him to cancel planned business trips to Kumasi.

Through the lawsuit, Van Vicker is seeking GH¢10 million in exemplary damages, alongside additional compensation for libel and the payment of legal costs associated with the case.

The actor is also asking the court to order Lilwin to publish a retraction of the alleged defamatory statements and issue a formal apology. According to the reliefs being sought, the retraction and apology should be published on news portals for four consecutive weeks.

In addition, Van Vicker wants the court to restrain Lilwin from making similar statements about him in the future.

The court action represents a legal attempt by the actor to seek redress over the alleged remarks and obtain remedies for the harm he claims to have suffered.

The document was signed by Ebenezer Asare, who is representing Van Vicker as counsel in the matter.

The allegations contained in the lawsuit are claims made by Van Vicker and will need to be considered through the appropriate legal process. The filing of the case does not, by itself, establish that defamation occurred.

Further developments in the proceedings could determine how the dispute between the two actors is resolved and whether the court grants the remedies being requested.
