The Gov Who Was Calling Me A Guy, If I Put Fire In His State Now, They’ll Say I’m Putting Fire— Wike
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has warned a governor who previously referred to him as a guy, saying that any political crisis in the governor’s state could be blamed on him.
In a video shared by TVC News, Wike made the statement during his monthly media parley while speaking about his political differences with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the events that led to their conflict.
The minister blamed ungrateful people for the crisis between him and Fubara. He recalled that he had supported the governor’s political future when he flagged off the construction of the Ring Road, saying that completing the project would guarantee Fubara a second term.
According to Wike, Fubara now understands that some people involved in the crisis never had good intentions. He added that they had forgiven each other and agreed to work together again.
Wike also warned that those who believed his political influence had ended should be careful. He said that although he was not contesting an election, he could still create political pressure in a state.
The minister further stated that Fubara was happy with their reconciliation because it would help his political team and family retain power, regardless of whether he personally contested another election.
In his words, “Governors in my party, like the one who’s calling me a guy. I don’t want to remember him, because if I put fire now in his state, they’ll say I’m the one putting fire.”
