If her absence is confirmed, Swift would break a streak of 14 consecutive home games in which she has been present for the Chiefs since her first appearance at Arrowhead Stadium. The singer has not missed a Kansas City home game since December 8, 2024, when she was unable to attend the matchup against the Chargers due to the final date of her Eras Tour in Vancouver.

Swift’s absence would have an impact that goes far beyond her relationship with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Since she began her connection with the team in 2023, her presence has been linked to higher television ratings and an expansion of Kansas City’s fan base.

However, according to Shuter, the singer’s priority this weekend is advancing her goal of winning her first Oscar.

The Chiefs (4-0) will host the Los Angeles Chargers (0-5) this Sunday at 3:25 p.m. CT at Arrowhead Stadium in a Week 6 NFL matchup that will be broadcast on CBS following Kansas City’s bye week.

Swift first appeared at Arrowhead on September 24, 2023, and quickly became a regular presence at Chiefs games.

During the 2024 season she attended nine of the team’s 10 home games, with her only absence coming against the Chargers because of the closing of her Eras Tour.

Since then, she has been present at every Kansas City home game, including the entire 2025 season and the first two home contests of this campaign.

According to various reports, Swift has attended at least 34 Chiefs games since she began her relationship with Kelce in 2023, with Kansas City holding a 24-8 record in her first 32 games in the stands.

Sunday’s matchup would also mark her first missed home game since her wedding to Kelce on July 3, 2026, at Madison Square Garden.

“Taylor loves supporting Travis, but this weekend is about Taylor. He has his career. She has hers. And right now, hers involves winning an Oscar,” said a person close to the singer quoted by Shuter.
