Presidential Securities Turned to Athletes as Ruto’s Motorcade Speeds Off in Elgeyo After Rally

A dramatic scene has unfolded in Kapyego, Marakwet East Constituency, after President William Ruto’s elite Presidential Escort officers have had to sprint alongside his accelerating official motorcade to keep up with the fast-moving executive convoy.

Shortly after completing project commissioning activities and addressing a massive crowd of local residents, the Head of State’s vehicle suddenly accelerated onto the open road, forcing plainclothes close-protection detail officers into an athletic dash.

Video footage and photos captured at the venue have shown several security personnel running at full speed alongside the flagship SUV to maintain the protective perimeter.

The sudden high-speed departure caught both onlookers and security officers off guard as the presidential motorcade swiftly navigated the dusty route toward the next scheduled rally on his regional circuit.

Excited residents lining the roadside cheered enthusiastically, watching the unexpected display of physical agility from the President’s personal security detail.

Earlier in Kapyego, President Ruto commissioned phase one of the Ksh350 million Kapyego Water Supply Project, which has targeted providing clean water to 12,000 households across Elgeyo Marakwet County.

Addressing the large gathering from his vehicle’s sunroof, the Head of State pointed out that his administration has remained committed to national water security, outlining plans to construct over 1,200 dams countrywide through the National Infrastructure Fund.

He reassured residents that local development projects have remained on schedule.

This high-octane departure in Marakwet East has added yet another memorable moment to the President’s ten-day regional tour.

As the executive convoy sped off toward subsequent inspections and public rallies, the quick-thinking security response has highlighted the rapid pace of the presidential itinerary as the Head of State continues consolidating support across his Rift Valley stronghold.
