NGA 5-0 COM (AGG 7-0): Super Falcons Seal Dominant Victory to Eliminate Comoros
According to a report by Soccernet on Tuesday October 13, 2026, Nigeria’s Super Falcons booked their place in the next round of the 2028 Olympic Games qualifiers after recording a commanding 5-0 victory over Comoros in the second leg of their second-round encounter at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne on Tuesday.
The Nigerian women delivered an impressive attacking performance to secure a 7-0 aggregate triumph, having won the first leg 2-0. Uchenna Kanu scored twice, while Toni Payne and Christy Ucheibe also found the net as the Super Falcons strengthened their pursuit of a place at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
Nigeria entered the return fixture with a comfortable advantage following their victory in the first meeting. Michelle Alozie and Kanu scored second-half goals to put the African champions in control of the tie.
Interim head coach Augustine Eguavoen’s side maintained their dominance in the return fixture, although they had to wait until the second half to increase their advantage.
Kanu broke the deadlock three minutes after the restart, heading home a delivery from Florence Ijamilusi to give Nigeria the lead on the night.
The Cruz Azul forward struck again in the 58th minute, finishing another opportunity to extend the Super Falcons’ advantage. Her second goal left Comoros with an even greater challenge as Nigeria continued to dictate proceedings.
Payne added a fourth goal in the 64th minute after combining with her teammates in an attacking move that involved Kanu, Igbokwe and Blessing. The midfielder finished from close range to cap off the well-worked move.
Nigeria were subsequently awarded a penalty after Blessing was fouled inside the box. Ucheibe stepped forward and calmly converted from the spot in the 72nd minute to complete the scoring.
Comoros struggled to threaten Nigeria throughout the encounter, with goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie saving their first shot on target across the two legs.
The victory sends the Super Falcons into the third round, where they will face Morocco in March. The Nigerians are targeting consecutive Olympic appearances after returning to the women’s football tournament at Paris 2024 following a 16-year absence.
