Manchester United Outscore Arsenal In Early Champions League Standings

Paris Saint-Germain top the UEFA Champions League standings after the opening round, with Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Manchester United also among the teams that started their campaigns with victories.

PSG occupy first place after scoring six goals and conceding once, giving them a goal difference of +5.

Bayern Munich have the same goal difference but sit second after scoring five goals without conceding.

Barcelona are third with a +4 goal difference after scoring five times and conceding once, while Manchester United occupy fourth place following a 4-0 victory.

Como complete the top five after recording a 4-1 win, while Sporting CP and Stuttgart follow in sixth and seventh positions respectively, each with three points.

Manchester City are eighth with a goal difference of +2 after winning their opening match 2-0. Aston Villa, Lens, Real Betis and Borussia Dortmund also have three points.

Liverpool and Real Madrid occupy 13th and 14th places respectively, while Arsenal are 15th despite also winning their opening fixtures.

The difference in positions highlights the importance of goal difference in separating teams with equal points.

At the other end of the table, Bodø/Glimt sit bottom after a 5-0 defeat, while Slovan Bratislava are 35th following a 6-1 loss. Feyenoord and RB Leipzig also suffered heavy opening defeats.

Tuesday’s fixtures offer several teams an opportunity to improve their positions.

Arsenal host Lille, Manchester United travel to Atletico Madrid, Barcelona face Galatasaray and Bayern Munich visit Viking.

With the league phase still in its early stages, the standings remain open to change, but the opening results have already established PSG and Bayern among the early pace-setters.
