Pure Love: Sifuna Flings Politics Aside To Surprise Babu Owino In A Way No One Predicted

Politics in Kenya is known to be dirty and full of bitter rivalries, but a rare and heartwarming incident has completely broken the internet today. If you think politicians are always fighting behind closed doors, what Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna did to Embakasi East MP Babu Owino will shock you to your core.

It all went down during a special gathering where unexpected emotions took over the entire room. Babu Owino, who has been a highly influential and controversial figure in Kenyan politics, recently celebrated his 37th birthday on October 10, 2026.

While he expected a normal working day, the Linda Mwananchi team had a massive surprise waiting for him on Monday, October 12. They sneaked in a gorgeous birthday cake to honor the vocal lawmaker.

But the real drama started when Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna stepped forward. In a beautiful display of deep political brotherhood that no one saw coming, Sifuna and Babu Owino were captured physically feeding each other pieces of the birthday cake like real brothers.

The photos of the playful, adorable exchange quickly leaked online, immediately winning the hearts of thousands of Kenyans who are used to seeing political leaders throwing insults at each other.

Deeply moved by the gesture, Babu Owino opened up, stating that the Linda Mwananchi team has officially become more than just work colleagues to him. “This team has become a family. We spend so much time working together, and I’m truly grateful to be surrounded by such amazing people,” Babu stated emotionally.

This massive celebration comes right after Babu Owino moved the nation to tears with an emotional tribute to his doting mother, Dorcas Owino. The MP bravely recalled his painful childhood, reminding Kenyans how his mother sold chang’aa in the slums just to give him an education.

This beautiful display of love and loyalty between Sifuna and Babu Owino proves that true friendship still exists in leadership. What do you think about Sifuna’s action?
