Injured Barcelona Superstar Expected to Return to Action Against PSG
According to a report by Barca Universal on Tuesday October 13, 2026, Barcelona captain Raphinha is expected to return from injury against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League next week after suffering a minor setback during the international break.
The Brazilian forward has avoided a serious injury, but the Catalan club are determined not to rush his recovery ahead of several important fixtures.
The 29-year-old was forced off during Brazil’s second friendly against Australia after experiencing discomfort. He subsequently returned to Spain for medical examinations, which confirmed that the problem was not serious.
However, Barcelona are taking a cautious approach following his injury difficulties last season.
Raphinha participated in training on Monday before his teammates travelled to Turkey for their Champions League meeting with Galatasaray. He is expected to gradually resume full team training when the squad returns.
According to reports, the Brazilian is unlikely to feature against Real Betis in La Liga later this week. Instead, the club are targeting next week’s European encounter against PSG for his comeback.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta also indicated that the forward should be available for the trip to Paris after receiving an update from the club’s medical team.
Raphinha has been one of Barcelona’s most productive players this season. His transition into the centre-forward position has proved successful, with the captain already scoring 14 goals across all competitions.
Despite his absence, Barcelona secured a convincing victory over Getafe in their first match after the international break. Gabriel Jesus started through the middle and scored, marking his first start for the Catalans with a goal.
The Brazilian has now registered three goals since joining the club during the summer. Anthony Gordon also scored against Getafe, providing Hansi Flick with another attacking option.
These alternatives have allowed Barcelona to avoid putting unnecessary pressure on their injured captain.
With the PSG encounter approaching, the club will continue managing Raphinha’s recovery carefully. Barcelona will also face arch-rivals Real Madrid at Spotify Camp Nou shortly after their European fixture. His anticipated return would provide a significant boost for both crucial matches.
