I have withdrawn my support for APC Aspirants -” Tinubu Must Go’ Coordinator Hikima
According to a report by Daily Post News, 14, October 2026, the Human rights activist and National Coordinator of the Tinubu Must Go movement, Abba Hikima, has announced that he is withdrawing his planned support for some All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirants, accusing them of showing support for the alleged oppression of Nigerians and leaders he considers oppressive.
Hikima disclosed this in a statement shared on his Facebook page on Monday, explaining that his decision was influenced by what he described as the aspirants’ attitude towards the alleged mistreatment of members of the public.
According to him, he could no longer support individuals who appeared pleased with the suffering of citizens or showed sympathy towards those accused of abusing their positions.
He stated that anyone who supports leaders accused of oppressing members of their community should also be regarded as part of the oppression.
Hikima had earlier attracted attention after declaring his support for Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, despite his membership of the APC. His latest position, however, appears to represent a change in his stance towards certain APC aspirants, although he did not disclose their identities.
The development comes amid an earlier disagreement between the Tinubu Must Go movement and the Kano State Police Command over a planned gathering organised by the group in Kano.
The movement had alleged that the police prevented the event from taking place after officers were deployed to the venue.
The police, however, rejected the allegation, stating that their presence was aimed at ensuring the safety and security of those attending the gathering.
