Arrest made in ‘targeted and retaliatory’ shooting on Bay Bridge
SAN FRANCISCO — A 19-year-old San Pablo man and a 15-year-old Richmond boy have been arrested in connection with a shooting last month on the Bay Bridge, authorities said.
The shooting happened Sept. 26 on eastbound Interstate 80 west of the toll plaza, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP said investigators determined the shooting appeared to be “targeted and retaliatory” and stemmed from a fight in San Francisco. The suspects, the CHP added, followed the victims onto the freeway and opened fire on their car, hitting the passenger in the leg.
Investigators identified the suspects and obtained warrants for their arrest, the CHP said.
On the morning of Oct. 8, authorities served search warrants at residences in San Pablo and Richmond. The 19-year-old man, identified as Olman Santiago Martinez Aguilar, was arrested on suspicion of crimes including attempted murder and shooting at an occupied vehicle. He was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility.
The 15-year-old boy, who the CHP did not identify because he is a minor, was already in custody for an unrelated matter.
