You’ll be suspended if… – Miracles Aboagye warns NPP parliamentary aspirants over campaign directive
The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Director of Communications, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has warned prospective parliamentary aspirants that disregarding the party’s directive to halt campaign activities could undermine their suitability for leadership positions.
Speaking on Accra-based Channel One TV, he said those seeking to lead the party must demonstrate discipline and respect for its rules and instructions.
“If you yourself begin to disregard party directives, then, you know, you’re not fit to lead a party at any level,” he said.
Mr Aboagye further cautioned that aspirants who fail to comply with the directive risk being disqualified from participating in the party’s parliamentary primaries.
“There are consequences to not comply with this directive, chief of which is the likelihood of disqualification just because you refuse to comply with the party’s directive,” he said.
The warning follows an NPP directive ordering prospective parliamentary aspirants, their agents and supporters to suspend all campaign activities until further notice.
The party says the measure is aimed at curbing premature campaigning, maintaining fairness among contestants, and preserving unity and discipline within its ranks.
Mr Aboagye’s remarks reinforce the party’s position that compliance with its directives is an important requirement for members seeking leadership roles.
