Ghanaian Boxer Seth Gyimah Presents His Newly Won Championship Belt to Asantehene Otumfuo

Ghanaian professional boxer Seth Gyimah, popularly known as Freezy Macbones, has presented his newly won World Boxing Organization (WBO) Africa Light Heavyweight Championship belt to His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, as a mark of respect and appreciation following his latest achievement in the boxing ring.

The presentation was a gesture of honour by the boxer to the Asantehene, recognising the traditional ruler’s importance and celebrating his success in securing a major continental title for Ghana.

Freezy Macbones earned the WBO Africa Light Heavyweight Championship after defeating Nigerian boxer Godday “Zodsolo” Appah in a fiercely contested bout in Lagos, Nigeria, with the Ghanaian emerging victorious by majority decision after 10 rounds of action.

The victory marked an important milestone in Freezy’s professional boxing career, strengthening his position in the African boxing scene and adding another significant achievement to his record.

His triumph over Appah demonstrated his ability to compete at a high level against opponents from across the continent, with the judges’ decision confirming his victory after the scheduled rounds had been completed.

By presenting the championship belt to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Freezy Macbones offered the traditional ruler an opportunity to share in the achievement, while also acknowledging the cultural significance of the Asantehene as a prominent figure in Ghana.

The Asantehene occupies an influential position in the Asante Kingdom and is widely recognised for his role in preserving Asante traditions, promoting cultural values and supporting initiatives that contribute to the development of the kingdom and the wider Ghanaian community.

For Freezy Macbones, the presentation represents more than the display of a championship award, as it also reflects his desire to honour a respected traditional authority after reaching an important point in his sporting journey.

The WBO Africa Light Heavyweight title is a notable continental championship that provides boxers with an opportunity to establish themselves within their weight division and strengthen their professional credentials.

Winning the belt against a Nigerian opponent also adds a competitive dimension to the achievement, given the strong boxing traditions and rivalry between Ghana and Nigeria in several sporting disciplines.

Freezy’s latest success gives him another platform to pursue greater opportunities in professional boxing as he continues to build his career and seek further recognition within the sport.

The presentation of the belt to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II therefore serves as a celebration of Freezy Macbones’ continental triumph and his decision to honour the Asantehene with the championship he secured after defeating Godday “Zodsolo” Appah.
