Viral notification on KP IG’s transfer declared fake

A notification circulating on social media about the transfer of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed has been declared fake, 24NewsHD TV reported on Monday.

According to sources in the Establishment Division, the purported notification went viral amid developments surrounding the recent imposition of an emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The fake document claimed that Zulfiqar Hameed, a Grade-21 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan, had been transferred and directed to report to the Establishment Division.

Dated October 11, 2026, the notification also carried what appeared to be the forged signature of a section officer.

However, Establishment Division sources clarified that the department had issued no such notification and dismissed the document as fabricated.

Officials urged the public and media organisations to avoid sharing unverified information and to rely on official sources for confirmation of government decisions.
