CPPA seeks 38% increase in monthly fee from NEPRA
The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has sought an increase of around 38 percent in its monthly fee, proposing to raise it from Rs10.52 to Rs14.47 per kilowatt per month, 24NewsHD TV reported.
The agency has approached the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) for approval, seeking a total net revenue requirement of Rs3.37 billion for the current fiscal year.
If approved, the proposed increase could add around 2 to 3 paisa per unit to consumers’ electricity bills.
NEPRA has scheduled a public hearing on the CPPA’s request for October 27, where the proposal will be reviewed before a decision is made.
