OGRA’s licence opens up the gas sector to competitionThe gas market is opening up. For the first time, a private firm has been given a licence by the Oil and Gas Development Authority to sell gas to consumers of all varieties, thus providing the gas consumers a choice for the first time since they became customers of either Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited, which serves Punjab and Khaiber Pakhtoonkhwa, or Sui Southern Gas Company Limited, which serves Sindh and Balochistan.
