The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded Saturday to Highway 258 North near Banks School Road for reports of a rolling domestic incident.
Investigators say Janecia Amil Greenfield-Williams was driving south on Highway 258 for about four-and-a-half miles with the man on the hood of the vehicle. Deputies estimate she reached speeds of up to 60 miles per hour.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies and Kinston police officers safely stopped the vehicle. Greenfield-Williams was taken into custody without incident. The man was checked and released without injury.
Greenfield-Williams is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, assault with a deadly weapon with a minor present, reckless driving to endanger, resisting a public officer, misdemeanor crime of domestic violence and multiple traffic violations.
The sheriff’s office said the coordinated response helped prevent further harm.
