In an interview with The Sun, the 41-year-old reality TV star said that she moved from Los Angeles to the UK with her son partly to give him a more stable life and a childhood different from her own. Osbourne said:

“I want my son to have a different childhood to mine. At first, when he was younger and we were on the road a lot [with Sidney’s dad’s band Slipknot], I was like: ‘This is great. He gets to grow up just like me.’ And then I thought: ‘No, this actually isn’t healthy for him and this is exposing him to too much. I’ve got to get him home.’”

Osbourne shares one child, a son named Sidney, with her ex-fiancé, Slipknot DJ Sid Wilson. They welcomed him in November 2022.

Kelly Osbourne has recently shared in an interview with The Sun how she wants him to have a life away from the public eye in contrast to hers.

Born on October 27, 1984, Osbourne was thrust into the limelight as the daughter of rock star Ozzy Osbourne and television personality Sharon Osbourne. With the premiere of the hit MTV reality series, The Osbournes, she became a household name as a teenager. At that time, she was about 17 years old.

Speaking to The Sun about her son, Sidney, she said:

“We always said that if we ever have a child, he’s going to be raised in England. When I moved back to the U.K., I finally felt like me again.”

Osbourne added “gun violence in the U.S.” as one of the factors in leading her decision to move to the U.K. She added:

“I don’t ever want to have to explain to my son what you do in school if there’s somebody with a gun. And that’s a genuine reality.”

Kelly Osbourne first met her ex-fiancé Sid Wilson in the 1990s when Slipknot performed on Ozzfest. After being friendly for more than two decades, they reconnected in 2020 and confirmed their relationship in early 2022.

Wilson proposed to her in July 2025, but the couple ended their engagement in March 2026 after going through a difficult period. According to a report in People magazine, a source revealed that Kelly Osbourne was “not happy with him” and the couple had a lot of “back and forth.” They added that she wants to prioritize her family, including her mother and son, and has been avoiding the “drama” in her life right now.

Ozzy Osbourne died in July 2025, shortly after Wilson proposed to Kelly Osbourne. The singer and her close ones have described the period as one of the hardest times in her life. Sources said the intense mourning process put everything into perspective for her. They said that Osbourne realized how she wanted to be treated and prioritized herself, her mother Sharon, and her son. A source said:

“After her dad Ozzy died it put everything into perspective, the main thing being, she’s realised how she wants to be treated, and what she deserves. Things haven’t been right for a while and she realised she needs to prioritise herself.”

“She’s so fragile because of everything that’s gone on with her father and is in need of something more. She didn’t want to pour into cups that don’t pour into hers.”

Kelly Osbourne previously spoke publicly about the biggest fight she ever had with Wilson over their son’s name. Sid, coming from a very traditional family background, initially refused, leaving the baby without the “Osbourne” name.

She stated on The Osbournes Podcast that she felt "forced into doing something I didn't want to do" and initially felt she could never forgive him for it. Her son is named Sidney George Wilson IV, after his father, Slipknot DJ Sid Wilson.
