Barcelona Squad List To Face Galatasaray; Raphinha And Two Other Key Players Ruled Out
Barcelona have confirmed their squad for Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League meeting with Galatasaray, with Raphinha, Frenkie de Jong and Andreas Christensen among the notable absentees.
According to a report by Barca Universal on Monday, 12 October 2026, manager Hansi Flick will travel to Istanbul without the three senior players, while Roony Bardghji is also unavailable for the European fixture.
Raphinha’s absence is a significant setback for Barcelona, with the Brazilian winger reportedly suffering an injury while on international duty.
Although the problem is not considered major, the club are keen to avoid aggravating the issue by rushing him back into action.
The decision means Flick must adjust his attacking options for a challenging away encounter against Galatasaray.
Barcelona will look to their other forwards to provide the creativity and attacking threat normally supplied by the Brazilian.
Raphinha’s recurring fitness problems have also raised concerns, with the latest setback forcing the coaching staff to manage his recovery carefully.
De Jong is another important absentee as he continues his rehabilitation from an injury sustained around the World Cup period.
The Netherlands international has resumed on-pitch training and has completed some sessions alongside his team-mates.
However, the midfielder has not recovered sufficiently to be included in the travelling squad for the Champions League fixture.
Christensen will also miss the match after suffering a muscle injury during Barcelona’s encounter with Sevilla. The defender’s latest physical setback has prevented him from joining the group travelling to Turkey.
Bardghji completes the list of unavailable players ahead of the European assignment, further limiting Flick’s options as he prepares his team for the match.
Despite the absences, Barcelona have most of their other players available. Flick is expected to consider changes in selected positions following the demanding victory over Getafe as he balances squad rotation with the need to secure a positive result in Europe.
The match against Galatasaray will test Barcelona’s depth, particularly in attack and midfield, as they attempt to maintain their competitiveness in the Champions League without several members of their senior squad.
