Barcelona Monitor Six Young Talents, Including Manchester United’s JJ Gabriel
Barcelona are reportedly monitoring six promising young footballers, including Manchester United prospect JJ Gabriel, as the Spanish giants continue to strengthen their youth recruitment strategy ahead of future transfer windows.
According to a report by Barca Universal on Sunday, October 11, 2026, the Catalan club are tracking several emerging talents under a recruitment programme led by sporting director Deco and head of scouting Joao Amaral.
The strategy focuses on identifying talented players early in their careers, helping them develop and securing their signatures before their market values rise significantly. Barcelona are looking to strengthen their long-term prospects by competing with Europe’s leading clubs for some of football’s most promising youngsters.
Gabriel is reportedly one of the players attracting considerable attention. The 16-year-old Manchester United forward has allegedly declined to sign his first professional contract with the Premier League club, prompting interest from Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.
According to the report, his representatives are believed to favour a move to Spain, although the youngster has yet to make a final decision between Barcelona and Real Madrid. The overall cost of a potential transfer could reportedly reach at least €10 million when wages, commissions and compensation are taken into account.
Barcelona are also monitoring Fulham midfielder Josh King, who has established himself in the first team at the age of 19. His performances early in the season, including two goals in his first five appearances, have reportedly attracted interest from Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid.
Fulham are understood to be reluctant to lose the midfielder, whose contract runs until 2029.
Another prospect on Barcelona’s radar is Gabriel Rajkovic, a 15-year-old forward playing for Norwegian club Valerenga. He reportedly made history by becoming the youngest goalscorer in Norway’s top division at 15 years, five months and 15 days. Arsenal and Manchester United are also said to be interested in his development.
The Spanish club are further tracking Brazilian defender Arthur Dias, 19, who captained Brazil at the 2025 South American Under-20 Championship. His performances have reportedly earned him recognition at senior international level under Carlo Ancelotti.
Palmeiras attacker Eduardo Conceicao, 16, is another player attracting Barcelona’s attention. His ability to operate in different attacking positions has impressed the club, although financial demands and competition from English teams have reportedly complicated previous attempts to pursue him.
The sixth prospect is Cavan Sullivan, the 17-year-old Philadelphia Union attacking midfielder who has impressed in Major League Soccer. However, Manchester City already have an agreement with Philadelphia Union to sign him when he turns 18 in September 2027.
Barcelona’s reported interest in these six players reflects the club’s continued focus on youth recruitment as they seek to build for the future. However, competition from major European clubs, existing contracts and financial considerations could influence their ability to secure the youngsters’ signatures.
