According to a report by Barca Universal on Monday October 12, 2026, Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal is closing in on another Champions League milestone, needing just one goal to equal Kylian Mbappe’s record for goals scored in the competition before turning 20.

The 19-year-old winger has already surpassed Mbappe’s tally for goals scored before reaching 19 and is now targeting another landmark as he continues making history in European football.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Yamal has registered 12 goals and 11 assists across 34 Champions League appearances. His goal against Feyenoord on the opening matchday brought him within one strike of Mbappe’s teenage record.

The Barcelona youngster could reach the milestone during the club’s upcoming Champions League meeting with Galatasaray, provided he maintains his impressive attacking form under manager Hansi Flick.

Yamal has already established himself ahead of Mbappe in one age-related scoring category. The Spanish international scored 11 Champions League goals before his 19th birthday, one more than the Real Madrid forward managed at the same age.
