Bank of Ghana Publishes Daily Exchange Rates for Monday, 12 October 2026

The Bank of Ghana has published its daily exchange rates for Monday, 12 October 2026, showing the buying and selling prices for the US dollar, British pound sterling, and the euro against the Ghana cedi. The rates are based on the average interbank rates used by commercial banks at the close of business on Friday, 9 October 2026.

According to the published figures, the US dollar is being bought at GH¢11.7841 and sold at GH¢11.7959. The British pound sterling is buying at GH¢15.5892 and selling at GH¢15.6048, while the euro is buying at GH¢13.1922 and selling at GH¢13.2031.

These rates serve as a reference point for businesses, importers, exporters, and individuals engaged in foreign currency transactions. They also provide the public with a transparent snapshot of the cedi’s performance against major international currencies.

The spread between the buying and selling rates is relatively narrow, which is typical of the interbank market. For ordinary Ghanaians, the published rates are an indicator of how the cedi is performing, even though banks and forex bureaux may apply their own margins.

The daily publication of exchange rates by the central bank forms part of its efforts to promote transparency in the foreign exchange market. Monitoring these figures over time can help the public track trends in the cedi’s value and anticipate changes in the cost of imports and other foreign currency-dependent goods and services.
