ARS Vs LIL: Arsenal Confirmed Team News and Predicted Lineup Ahead of UCL Clash

According to a report by London Evening Standard on Monday October 12, 2026, Arsenal will be without Piero Hincapie and Martin Zubimendi for their Champions League clash against Lille on Tuesday after both players suffered ankle injuries in training.

The unexpected setbacks have handed Mikel Arteta a selection headache as the Gunners prepare to continue their European campaign at the Emirates Stadium.

The north London side will welcome the French club hoping to secure a second consecutive victory in the Champions League league phase. Arsenal began their European campaign with a 1-0 win away against Napoli last month and will be determined to maintain their impressive start.

However, injuries to Hincapie and Zubimendi have disrupted Arteta’s preparations. Both players reportedly picked up ankle problems during a training session following Saturday’s victory over Leeds United.

Hincapie’s injury is believed to be more serious after the defender was carried off the pitch by third-choice goalkeeper Illan Meslier. Both players have been sent for further scans, with Arsenal awaiting more information about their recovery timelines.

Arteta confirmed that neither player would feature against Lille, although the club expected to know more about their conditions after the medical assessments.

Hincapie’s absence could open the door for Myles Lewis-Skelly to return to the starting lineup at left-back. Riccardo Calafiori is another option, but the Italian defender could be rested after representing his country three times during the recent international break.

In midfield, Mikel Merino could be introduced to provide additional energy alongside Declan Rice. Eberechi Eze will also be hoping to earn a starting role after missing out against Leeds, while Viktor Gyokeres could lead the attack.

Jurrien Timber is another contender to start at right-back as Arteta considers rotating his defensive options with Ben White.

Arsenal will also be without William Saliba and Christos Tzolis, who remain among the reported injury absentees.

Arsenal Predicted Lineup (4-2-3-1): Raya; Timber, Konsa, Gabriel, Lewis-Skelly; Rice, Merino; Saka, Odegaard, Eze; Gyokeres.
