US military says it disabled cargo vessel trying to run Iran blockade
DUBAI (Reuters) : âThe US military said on Saturday âit had disabled a commercial cargo vessel in the Gulf of Oman after the shipâs âcrew ignored âwarnings âand âattempted â to ârun an â ongoing naval blockade against Iran.
âA US military fighter jet struck the â stern of Panama-flagged M/V âOcean âMolica (also âknown âas the âArika Sunâ) with âa precision munition, fully disabling the shipâs propulsion without âharming the crew,â the US Central â Command â posted on X.
CENTCOM said the cargo vessel had attempted to transit regional waters after leaving an Iranian port.
