Tornado warnings issued for Anson, Stanly and Richmond counties: What we know
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Tornado warnings were issued for several counties as the remnants of Hurricane Isaias sweep through North Carolina, officials said.
The National Weather Service announced tornado warnings for Anson, Montgomery, Richmond and Stanly counties on Oct. 11 from 8:57 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
Recent radars shows a severe thunderstorm rotation capable of producing a tornado near Marshville at 8:57 a.m., moving northeast at 40 miles per hour.
The storm will be near Ansonville around 9 a.m., officials said.
The alert cities dangerous debris and possible damage to mobile homes, roofs, windows, vehicles and trees.
Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Uwharrie Haven, Norwood, Peachland, Polkton, and Lake Tillery.
