KP governor chairs first Advisory Council meeting

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi chaired the first meeting of the 11-member Advisory Council to discuss the province’s law and order situation, public safety, anti-corruption measures and tourism promotion.

Addressing the meeting, Kundi said the province would face several challenges in the coming days and urged council members to perform their responsibilities with dedication and sincerity.

He called on members to present practical recommendations to address provincial issues and improve public welfare.

The governor said maintaining law and order and ensuring public safety were the government’s top priorities. He stressed the need for effective measures to eliminate terrorism and strengthen the capacity of the provincial police and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD).

Kundi emphasised that improving the security situation required coordinated efforts and effective action by all relevant institutions.

He also reiterated the government’s commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against corruption, urging institutions to fulfil their responsibilities and deliver results in line with public expectations.

Highlighting the province’s tourism potential and natural resources, the governor said concerted efforts would be made to promote tourism and utilise available opportunities to support economic development.

He stressed that cooperation among relevant stakeholders was essential to ensuring peace, stability and prosperity across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Kundi expressed confidence that the Advisory Council would play an active role in addressing the province’s challenges through practical recommendations and coordinated efforts.
