Hlaudi’s visit came amid heightened attention on the stadium following the president’s engagements with investors and community members during his visit to QwaQwa on Friday, 9 October.
Hlaudi noted he was inspecting the stadium to critically assess its safety ahead of his planned rally on Saturday, 17 October.
The former SABC boss said he wanted to guarantee and ensure that the venue was safe and ready to comfortably accommodate supporters expected to attend the gathering.
He was flanked and accompanied by scores of his coordinators, who enthusiastically sang in support of him and confidently claimed that his political movement would successfully secure an outright majority in the struggling Maluti-a-Phofung Local Municipality in the upcoming local government elections.
The coordinators appeared optimistic about their chances, expressing vocal confidence that they could win the support of the electorate and bring real political change to the troubled municipality.
Addressing his coordinators directly, Hlaudi declared that he is the one who would remove what he uniquely described as a “dark cloud” brought by President Cyril Ramaphosa.

His remarks come a day after Ramaphosa’s visit to QwaQwa, where the president officially announced a R100 billion catalytic investment and industrialisation plan for the Tshiame Special Economic Zone.
Ramaphosa came here to bring a dark cloud over the people instead of bringing them hope. They came with government resources to campaign for the ANC, which I believe is an abuse of public resources for political gain. In my view, no person who understands the suffering of the people and the state of the country would vote for that party, he said
Hlaudi further explained to the crowd that he had walked more than five kilometres from the Tshiya College of Education to the Phuthaditjhaba Stadium to demonstrate to the country that he was ready to govern.
He said the walk was intended to physically show his determination and commitment to leadership as he was prepared to address his supporters.
I was accused of feeding people to attract them to my rallies, but there is no way I can fill a stadium with people without food. They also did the same, but they used government resources rather than ANC money. I can confirm that I will slaughter many cows to feed people at my rally because I want them to come together and be part of this gathering, said Hlaudi.
