Heat moving out early this week with a cold front slowly approaching
SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – Sunday was another hot, breezy, and dry day raising fire concerns across the area. Hold onto the heat while it’s here. A big change is coming to Siouxland this week.
A calm and warm night is expected Sunday night. Winds remain out of the south and southeast 5-10 mph. A few clouds are expected making for partly cloudy conditions. Overnight lows will be in the upper 50s and lower 60s.
On Monday morning there will be a few clouds, but they will clear out in the afternoon. Highs on Monday will be dependent on the speed of the cold front. Right now, it looks like temperatures will be in the lower 80s. Winds pick up in the evening as the cold front arrives. Winds shift to become out of the northwest in the evening with gusts up to 30 mph during Monday night.
Seasonal highs return to the forecast Tuesday. Highs will be back into the middle 60s, and by the end of the week the upper 50s. Saturday morning could bring lows below freezing in some areas.
Rain chances return overnight Wednesday and continue on Thursday. A rumble of thunder cannot be ruled out. Breezy conditions are expected on Friday and Saturday.
