Deputy PM condemns Houthi attack on Riyadh airport
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar reaffirmed on Sunday the Pakistan’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia’s leadership and people, adding that Pakistan remained committed to Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and security under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement (MJDA).
In a message posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Dar has strongly condemned the Houthi attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, expressing solidarity with the Saudi leadership and people. Dar said Pakistan condemned the attack and prayed for the speedy recovery of all those injured, including six Pakistanis.
He said Pakistan’s embassy in Riyadh had been directed to provide all possible assistance to the injured Pakistani nationals.
Dar termed attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure as violations of international law and a serious threat to regional peace.
He said Pakistan was in contact with Saudi authorities and closely monitoring the situation.
