AWKUM to hand over facilities for third phase of college relocation
Mardan – Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) has reviewed preparations for the third phase of the relocation of Government Postgraduate College Mardan to its Garden Campus, including the handover of buildings and associated facilities to facilitate academic activities.
The review took place at a meeting chaired by AWKUM Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Jamil Ahmed at the university’s Garden Campus. Those attending included the college principal, Prof Dr Abrar, Prof Ehsanullah, Prof Taskin Ahmed, Director Administration Farhad Safi and Director Works Waqar Khan. The meeting reviewed arrangements for the third phase of the college’s relocation and agreed in principle to the transfer of a building comprising 16 classrooms, an IT building, a guest house, two servants’ quarters, six laboratories and other essential facilities.

Prof Dr Jamil Ahmed directed the relevant officers to complete the transfer of essential equipment and other related items as soon as possible. He also ordered the early construction of a boundary wall around the girls’ hostel to ensure that security arrangements and other necessary facilities were in place in time.
The vice-chancellor directed the relevant departments to work in close coordination under a clear strategy to complete the third phase of the relocation promptly. He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to making the best use of available resources to provide students with a better learning environment, quality facilities and adequate security.

Prof Dr Abrar thanked the vice-chancellor for his personal attention, continued guidance and efforts to facilitate the college’s relocation. He said Prof Dr Jamil Ahmed’s commitment and cooperation had helped advance the process and expressed the college administration’s appreciation for his support.
The meeting also discussed administrative arrangements for the transfer and handover of the buildings and associated facilities. The relevant authorities were directed to complete the necessary formalities in a timely manner.

The timely handover, the meeting was told, would enable the college administration to use the facilities for teaching and other academic activities from the start of the new academic year. The move is expected to improve the learning environment for students and ensure more effective use of the available educational infrastructure.
