Arrest after car hits war memorial wall

A 34-year-old man has been arrested after a car hit a war memorial.

Sussex Police said officers were called to reports of a single vehicle crash outside the All Saints Church in Crowborough at 23:30 on Friday.

The force added that a vehicle was found with "serious damage" after hitting the wall around the memorial.

Officers said the driver, who is from the East Sussex town, was arrested on suspicion of drug driving.

Sussex Police appealed for anyone with information about what happened to contact them.
