Sifuna Breaks Silence, Reveals Last Private Conversation With Oburu, Sparks Debate

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has revealed details of his last conversation with Siaya Senator and ODM leader Oburu Oginga before the veteran politician travelled to London for medical examinations.

Speaking in a video shared by Lightcast TV Kenya, Sifuna recalled that he spoke to Oburu while he was admitted to hospital, shortly before his departure for the United Kingdom.

According to Sifuna, their conversation was reassuring, with Oburu telling him that he was doing well before the two exchanged good wishes.

“Mara ya mwisho niliongea na Oburu ni akiwa hospitalini kabla aende London, akanieleza alikuwa sawa na tukatakiana kila la heri!” Sifuna said.

His remarks come amid growing public interest in Oburu’s health following reports of his recent hospital visits and temporary absence from active political engagements.

According to reports by The Star, Oburu was admitted to Nairobi Hospital in early October. ODM communications director Philip Etale subsequently said the veteran politician had visited the hospital for a check-up and needed time to recover.

The Daily Nation also reported that Oburu’s family had indicated that he was improving while remaining in the United Kingdom pending medical clearance to return home.

Sifuna’s account offers a personal glimpse into his interaction with the ODM leader but does not provide a fresh medical assessment of his condition.

As speculation continues, Kenyans have been urged to rely on verified updates from Oburu’s family and party officials for accurate information about his health.
