Ronaldo To Return To Portugal Squad In November After Suspension

According to Daily post, Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to return to the national team during the November international break after serving a suspension, according to the Portuguese Football Federation president, Pedro Proença.

The 41-year-old Al Nassr forward was suspended following an incident involving his departure from the national team camp during the UEFA Nations League in September, Daily Post reported on Saturday.

However, the suspension is expected to last about one month, potentially allowing Ronaldo to rejoin Portugal for their November fixtures.

Proença confirmed that the federation, coaching staff and players were united in their desire to see the former Real Madrid and Manchester United forward return to the squad.

“The Federation, the coach, all the teammates are aligned: we want Cristiano back. I expect him back already during the November international break,” Proença said.

He added that Ronaldo was also willing to return to the national team, describing the Portugal captain as the greatest player of all time.

“Cristiano is also willing to return. He’s the best of all time,” the federation president said.

Ronaldo remains one of Portugal’s most influential players, having served as captain for several years and played a significant role in the country’s international success.

His return would provide Portugal with additional experience and attacking options as the team continues its preparations for upcoming international assignments.

The forward has enjoyed a remarkable international career, becoming Portugal’s all-time leading goalscorer and one of the most prolific scorers in men’s international football.

Despite his age, Ronaldo has continued playing at club level for Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr while maintaining his ambition to represent Portugal.

The expected November return would also offer an opportunity for the captain to rejoin his teammates after the disciplinary issue.

Proença’s comments suggest that the Portuguese football authorities are keen to resolve the situation and restore the experienced forward to the squad as soon as he becomes eligible.

However, Ronaldo’s participation will depend on the completion of his suspension and the final decisions of the national team’s coaching staff.

Portugal will hope to have their captain available for the November international break as they continue their preparations for future competitions.
