Chelsea, Liverpool ready to move for Real Madrid midfield target in January

Madrid Universal reported on Saturday, October 10, 2026, that Chelsea and Liverpool are ready to rival Real Madrid in the race to sign Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott ahead of the next transfer windows.

According to information reported by Bernabeu Digital, both English clubs have been keeping an eye on the 23-year-old and could make major moves to secure his services when the January transfer window opens.

Scott has delivered impressive performances since joining Bournemouth and recently earned his first appearance for the England national team. His achievements have increased his profile and attracted the attention of several leading clubs.

Real Madrid have also identified the midfielder as a possible addition as they seek to improve their options in the centre of the pitch. Despite their interest, the Spanish club are reportedly prepared to continue assessing his performances for the remainder of the season before considering a potential move next summer.

Bournemouth reportedly place a valuation of around €80 million on Scott and are determined to retain him during the January transfer window. The club would rather postpone discussions about his future until the end of the season, although competition from Chelsea and Liverpool could complicate their plans.

By choosing to wait until the summer, Real Madrid could allow their Premier League rivals to take the lead in the transfer race if either club is willing to meet Bournemouth’s financial demands. However, there has been no confirmation of an official bid, and Scott’s current contract with Bournemouth runs until 2028.

Scott is one of several midfielders reportedly on Real Madrid’s recruitment shortlist as the club evaluates its long-term plans. The Spanish giants are considering different types of players who could strengthen and complement their existing midfield, and the Bournemouth midfielder has emerged as one possible option.
