The actor said that he apologized to Rock for interrupting their conversation.

"I just crashed the show, and I felt terrible," he said.

Nicolas Cage's interview-crashing days are behind him.

During his "Spotlight" conversation at New York Comic Con on Saturday, the 62-year-old Con Air actor was asked if there were any panels that he'd like to crash at the event this weekend.

"I don't interrupt people anymore. I've had a problem with that in the past, and I feel very bad about it, and I've actually apologized," Cage replied. "Chris Rock was on The Howard Stern Show, and I just crashed the show, and I felt terrible."

The National Treasure star clarified that he "didn't know it was Chris" who was on the radio program when he stopped by for an extended period of time in 2002.

"I just showed up because I didn't want to give Howard time to think about questions to ask," he said.

Cage also noted that he's since made amends with Rock for the faux pas.

"I subsequently saw Chris and said, 'Chris, you're probably the coolest human in all of Hollywood. I love you.' And he was nice about it," he continued. "But, yeah, I probably shouldn't have interrupted."

Rock was in the middle of his conversation with Stern when Cage arrived. The stand-up comedian rolled with the unexpected interruption, calling Cage the real star between them both at the time. "He's got an Academy Award. I've got a Source Award," he joked.

Cage got the chance to give Rock his flowers again later on in the panel when asked to name his pick for James Bond.

When someone shouted out Rock from the crowd, he replied, "Thank you for that! He would be the best James Bond, I agree with that! I'll go see that movie! That would be a brilliant movie."

His other dream film project? "The MCU fighting the WWE," Cage said. "You've got Jackman's adamantium blades going up against Rick Flair who's going, 'Who!' And you've got [Robert Downey] Jr. going up against Brock Lesnar."
