‘Modern Family’ Star, 55, Appears Unrecognizable After Weight Loss
A Modern Family star has undergone a jaw-dropping weight-loss transformation.
Eric Stonestreet, who played Cameron Tucker in Modern Family from 2009 to 2020, appeared on the black carpet at the premiere of Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 in New York City on Oct. 8.
The 55-year-old Emmy winner was accompanied by his wife, pediatric nurse Lindsay Stonestreet (née Schweitzer), 47. The couple met at a hospital in 2017 and married in September 2025.
Stonestreet showed off his transformation with a wide smile in a blue dress shirt, a brown leather jacket, black pants, and black dress shoes.

In May 2025, Stonestreet talked with People about his journey with Mounjaro, an appetite-suppressing medication prescribed to help with type 2 diabetes and weight loss.
Just after landing his iconic role in the hit sitcom in 2009, following years of struggling to lose weight, Stonestreet was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
“It was like this crazy happy moment cut with this diagnosis that I truthfully didn’t take very seriously,” he said.

Stonestreet said he initially felt “embarrassed” by his diagnosis and kept it from family, friends, and even Schweitzer for years.
Eventually, however, he found doctors who encouraged him to take his condition seriously. Stonestreet was also motivated by his wife’s twin boys, whom he helped raise and wanted to “be around” for.

Stonestreet’s endocrinologist prescribed him weekly Mounjaro shots as soon as the medication was FDA-approved in May 2022.
“It’s a game changer,” Stonestreet said. “It has just been incredible. It’s changed my lifestyle, changed my approach to eating, changed my approach to exercise.”
In 2025, he became a spokesperson for the drug’s maker, Eli Lilly and Company.
“Modern Family” won 22 Emmy Awards during its run. Cast pictured here in 2010: Ed O’Neill, Ty Burrell, Julie Bowen, Ariel Winter, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet, Rico Rodriguez, Nolan Gould, Sofia Vergara, and Sarah Hyland.
Stonestreet’s mother, too, got on the medication.
“I experienced a little weight loss. My mom, she lost a significant amount of weight in her experience with it,” he said.
Eric Stonestreet won an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his role in “Modern Family” in 2010.
For Stonestreet, the transformation was initially slow: “I kind of was at the same weight for many years, but then in the last year when I started to really contribute more to it, I’ve dropped a substantial amount of weight.”
He said the medication also made him change his lifestyle and gave him a “pep in his step.”

“I felt like, well, if I don’t do something along with it, I’m disappointing it. I’m letting it down,” Stonestreet said of the medication. “Here, these people have invented this incredible thing that clearly does its part. Now I need to contribute my part.”
He added, “And it turns out that when you do that and make some really great choices, weight loss is also a byproduct of that.”
