Look, Speak, Pay!
New Delhi: What if you could pay at a shop without ever pulling your phone out of your pocket? Just look at a QR code, give a voice command, and you’re done. That’s the idea behind one of the futuristic products Jio showcased at India Mobile Congress 2026. The company unveiled a range of personal AI wearables, including camera glasses, audio glasses and earphones. The showcased features include Scan & Pay, an AI voice assistant, support for multiple Indian languages, live translation, AI note-taking and live cricket commentary.
The standout feature is Scan & Pay. The camera glasses can scan a UPI QR code, while the user gives a voice command to initiate the payment. Once confirmed, the payment goes through. With UPI Circle, users can make payments of up to ā¹5,000 per transaction. The limit is set under UPI Circle rules, not by Jio. The monthly limit stands at ā¹15,000.
Think about the steps this could save at a shop. No need to pull out your phone, unlock it, open a payment app and scan a QR code. Here, AI isn’t just an assistant answering questions. It’s technology that can act on your commands. Jio is looking to move AI beyond screens and keyboards, bringing it closer to everyday life through voice-based interactions.
Live translation is another key feature of Jio AI Glasses. Two people speaking different Indian languages could understand each other with the help of wearable devices. You speak in your language, the other person speaks in theirs, and AI handles the translation.
And there’s more. AI note-taking is designed to capture important points during meetings, while live cricket commentary could help fans keep up with the match even when they’re on the move. From office meetings to cricket action, the idea is simple: spend less time checking your phone.
According to Jio, these wearables are designed to improve productivity, expand access to knowledge and make everyday tasks easier with AI. The focus is on voice and Indian languages, enabling users to interact with AI and digital services in their preferred language.
Jio’s showcase offers a glimpse into what could be next for wearable technology. Smart glasses aren’t new, but features such as UPI payments, Indian-language support, live translation, AI note-taking and cricket commentary bring the technology closer to the everyday needs of Indian users.
