LaLiga Table After Real Madrid Won 1-0 With A Red Card

According to a report by BBC Sport on Saturday, October 10, 2026, Real Madrid secured a hard-earned 1-0 victory over Villarreal in their LaLiga encounter.

The home side started the game with the intention of taking control, but Villarreal also showed they were ready to compete for all three points. Real Madrid created some promising chances in the opening stages, with Kylian Mbappe coming close to scoring in the seventh minute when his effort struck the post.

Both teams continued to battle for control as the first half progressed, with Villarreal enjoying spells of possession and looking dangerous whenever they moved forward. However, neither side could find the breakthrough before the referee blew for half-time, leaving the contest evenly balanced.

Real Madrid eventually took the lead in the 62nd minute through Yan Diomande, who finished with his right foot after receiving an assist from Federico Valverde following a key pass from Arda Guler. The goal was checked by the video assistant referee before it was eventually allowed to stand, giving the hosts an important advantage.

The match took another turn in the 74th minute when Vinicius Junior was sent off for violent conduct after a VAR review, leaving Real Madrid with a difficult task of protecting their lead with ten players on the pitch.

Villarreal tried to take advantage of their numerical superiority by pushing forward in search of an equaliser, but Real Madrid defended with determination and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois helped his team remain in front. Despite late pressure from the visitors, the home side held on until the final whistle to claim all three points.

With the hard-fought victory, Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid moved to third position on the LaLiga table with 18 points, six points behind leaders Barcelona, while Villarreal dropped to 10th position following the defeat.
