According to report by Nigerian Tribune on Saturday, October 10, 2026, Nollywood actress Toyosi Adesanya has opened up about her difficult journey to motherhood, revealing that she underwent five surgeries in 2022 while trying to conceive.

The actress shared her experience during an interview with Oyinmomo TV, where she also spoke about the support she received from fellow actress Iyabo Ojo throughout her fertility struggles and challenges in her previous marriage.

According to Toyosi, the repeated surgical procedures became so frequent that her doctor eventually advised her to stop undergoing further operations.

“In 2022, I did five surgeries. I did so many surgeries my doctor told me, ‘Enough of this,’” she disclosed.

Toyosi, who welcomed a baby girl with her husband, Bola Adejobi, in March 2026, expressed gratitude to Iyabo for standing by her during some of the most difficult moments of her life.

She recalled an incident in 2014 when Iyabo travelled to Akure to confront her former husband and others she accused of making life unbearable for her.

According to the actress, Iyabo contacted her ex-husband and the individuals involved on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2014, demanding to know whether they intended to harm her.

Toyosi explained that Iyabo’s intervention during her marital crisis and fertility journey was one of the reasons she remained loyal to the actress.

She questioned why she would hesitate to support Iyabo, particularly when the actress’s grandson was celebrating his birthday.

Toyosi also criticised bloggers who, she said, exploit people’s painful experiences to generate attention and engagement.

The actress and her husband welcomed their first child through surrogacy in March 2026, following years of unsuccessful attempts to conceive.

Fellow actress Biola Adebayo announced the baby’s arrival and disclosed that the couple began their surrogacy journey in 2024.

Toyosi’s revelation offers insight into the emotional and physical challenges she endured before eventually becoming a mother.
