She said the pain became excruciating, with her ability to walk fluctuating as she underwent repeated medical tests.
Daniels expressed gratitude for improvements in her recovery, saying recent developments encouraged her to speak publicly about her health challenges. She also described the emotional strain of relying on others for everyday activities, while crediting her faith in God for helping her cope. The camp of Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami has appealed to supporters to remain calm after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) excluded his name from its final list of candidates for the 2027 Gombe State governorship election. In a statement issued on Saturday, October 10, 2026, the camp said its legal and liaison teams were engaging relevant Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) organs and INEC to resolve the issue within the period permitted by law. Pantami emerged as the party’s candidate following a fresh primary held on September 29 in compliance with a Federal High Court order.
The statement, signed by Professor Suleiman Mohammed Gombe, described the omission as a temporary setback and expressed confidence that the matter would be resolved. The camp also alleged that unnamed individuals were attempting to frustrate its political aspirations, although it provided no evidence to support the claim. It urged supporters to sustain their mobilisation and remain united, while INEC and the PDP leadership had yet to publicly respond to the development.
The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has resolved its disagreement over the composition of its presidential campaign council by allowing its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and running mate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to select key officials. The pair will nominate the Director-General, Deputy Director-General for the North, Director of Finance, Deputy Director of Finance and Media Director. NDC National Chairman, Senator Moses Cleopas, said the campaign council would be unveiled on November 20, 2026, barring unforeseen circumstances.
Cleopas explained that consultations among party leaders caused the delay, adding that the National Working Committee supported the arrangement. He dismissed suggestions that the party’s national leader, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, was not committed to the Obi-Kwankwaso ticket, insisting that the candidates must participate in forming the campaign structure. He also described the ticket as capable of attracting support across religious, ethnic and regional divides, while highlighting young Nigerians as a key focus of the party’s political strategy.
The Chief Imam of Ijebuland, Shaykh Miftaudeen Ayanbadejo, has clarified that the directive against men with plaited hair, earrings and tattoos attending congregational prayers at the Ijebu Ode Central Mosque, Oyingbo, was intended to promote modest dressing, cleanliness and proper conduct. The clarification was issued through the mosque’s corporate media head, Dr Oyekolade Oyesanya, following the announcement made during Friday prayers on October 9, 2026.
The Chief Imam’s office stressed that the directive was not intended to prevent any Muslim from entering the mosque or participating in congregational prayers. Worshippers were urged to dress modestly, maintain discipline, avoid distractions such as mobile phone use during sermons and respect the mosque’s rules. The office also called on those enforcing the guidance to act with wisdom, fairness and respect for everyone’s dignity.
