EPL Table After Arsenal Won 2-1

According to a report by BBC Sport on Saturday, October 10, 2026, Arsenal returned to winning ways in the Premier League after securing a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners started the match with the intention of controlling proceedings and created some chances in the first half, but Leeds remained organised at the back and looked dangerous whenever they moved forward. Despite enjoying more possession, Arsenal could not find a breakthrough before the interval, while Leeds also had opportunities to trouble David Raya.

The visitors made the most of their chance in the 55th minute when James Justin found the back of the net, putting Leeds ahead and increasing the pressure on the home side. Arsenal needed a quick response, and they got one seven minutes later when Riccardo Calafiori finished from close range after a move involving Noni Madueke and Ben White.

With the scores level, Arteta made changes in an attempt to push his team forward, and the decision soon paid off as Bruno Guimaraes came off the bench and scored Arsenal’s second goal in the 70th minute. Declan Rice provided the assist, while Martin Odegaard also played a part in the build-up, giving the home supporters a reason to celebrate.

Arsenal continued to look for another goal but also had to remain alert as Leeds searched for an equaliser during the closing stages. The visitors applied pressure late in the game, yet the Gunners held firm to protect their advantage until the final whistle.

The important victory strengthens Arsenal’s position in second place on the Premier League table, with the team now on 15 points, level with leaders Manchester City. Leeds United, meanwhile, remain in fifth place with nine points following their defeat.
