Emeka Rollas Apologises To Ned Nwoko, Regina Daniels, Mother Over Past Comments
The former president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas, has apologised to actress Regina Daniels and her mother, Rita Daniels, and other actors.
This is coming almost one year after he made comments about Regina’s marital dispute with her estranged husband, Ned Nwoko, the senator representing Delta North.
In November 2025, Rollas said that he felt compelled to address the allegations and misconceptions, especially as he was nearing the end of his tenure as AGN President.
He called on actors like Okey Bakassi, Charles Inojie, Chinyere Wilfred, Jide Kosoko, and Sanni Danji, who were on set with Regina, to back up his claim that Regina needs help.
Mr Rollas further stated that Mr Nwoko reached out to him because, according to him, Regina had refused to quit smoking while urging her mother, Rita Daniels, to prioritise her daughter’s health rather than concern herself with the AGN elections.
In a turn of events, the former AGN president said that with the passage of time, he has come to realise that being right about an issue does not necessarily mean we handled it the right way.
In a statement on his Instagram page, Rollas said that last year when he made the public statement, he believed strongly in the issues he raised and had reasons for speaking.
“But today, looking back, I must honestly admit: I regret the timing, the platform and the manner in which I handled it. These were people I had related with, worked with and, in some cases, considered friends. More importantly, I made those statements at a time when a family was going through a deeply personal and difficult period. I should not have taken that path. A recent coincidental encounter with Mrs Rita Daniels, where some people tried to make peace between us, gave me another opportunity to reflect,” he wrote.
He then went ahead to apologise to Rita Daniels, Senator Prince Ned Nwoko, Regina Daniels, the AGN Board of Trustees, Okey Bakassi, Charles Inojie, Chinyere Wilfred, Jide Kosoko, Sanni Danji, Agility, Nazareth Jesse, his former aides and every colleague whose name he mentioned.
“Whether or not anyone chooses to accept my apology is entirely their decision. I am making it because, after looking back, I am not proud of how I handled that moment.
“Leadership is not only about having the courage to speak. It is also about having the humility to acknowledge when we could have spoken differently, waited longer, or chosen a better path. I may still hold my convictions about some of the issues I raised then, but I take responsibility for my actions and my timing,” Rollas added.
