2015: Tinubu And Saraki Summoned Me To Kano To Assist Them In Talking To Rabiu Kwankwaso – Amaechi

In a video shared on Symfoni TV on Saturday, October 10, 2026, Rotimi Amaechi, ADC Vice Presidential Candidate and former governor of Rivers State, recounted his political experiences during the 2015 general election, including an assignment involving Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Bukola Saraki and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

Amaechi made the revelation while addressing members of the ADC presidential campaign council ahead of the 2027 general election. He reflected on the challenges he encountered while working with political leaders during the campaign that eventually brought former President Muhammadu Buhari to power.

According to Amaechi, β€œTinubu and Bukola Saraki summoned me to Kano to assist them in talking to Rabiu Kwankwaso.” He recalled travelling to Kano after Tinubu and Saraki asked him to assist them in discussions involving Kwankwaso, who was the governor of Kano State at the time.

The former Rivers State governor explained that the political activities surrounding the 2015 election involved negotiations and engagements among influential politicians seeking to achieve their objectives. However, he declined to provide all the details of the events in Kano, noting that the state had its own history that he did not want to interfere with.

Amaechi also recounted how he encountered difficulties travelling during his time as governor of Rivers State. He alleged that his movements were restricted on several occasions, including incidents at airports where he was prevented from flying.

He used these experiences to encourage members of the ADC campaign council to remain committed to their responsibilities despite the challenges they might encounter while campaigning against an incumbent government.

Amaechi further urged the opposition to focus on issues affecting Nigerians, particularly economic hardship, rising living costs and unemployment. He maintained that campaign officials must communicate their message effectively and convince voters through facts and practical proposals.

He concluded by urging ADC members to remain determined and learn from previous electoral experiences as they prepare for the 2027 general election.
